Glove Cuff Styles

There are several glove cuff style choices and the one you select will be based upon your specific application needs.  The most common are: safety cuffs, band top, knitwrist, gauntlet cuffs and slip-on.

Safety cuff provides protection to the wrist, features an open cuff which allows ventilation and quick removal. The safety cuff is usually 2½" in length and generally found on leather work gloves.

Band top cuff provides protection to the wrist, features a soft open cuff which allows ventilation and quick removal. The band top is used with hot mill gloves and some cotton canvas styles and is usually 2" long.

Knitwrist cuff holds glove firmly to the wearer's wrist and keeps dirt out. Improves fit and reduces glove slippage. This firm fit around the wrist can slow glove removal from the hand. The knitwrist is usually found on a variety of glove styles: cotton, string knits clute leather and coated gloves.

Gauntlet cuff provides addition wrist and forearm protection. Like the safety cuff it features an open cuff which allows ventilation and quick removal. The gauntlet cuff is usually 4½" in length and generally found on leather work gloves.

Slip-on cuff provides easy on and off by standing away from the wrist. No seam between glove and cuff. Lined jersey gloves and leather drivers normally use the slip-on cuff.
